Some of the recent spoilers that have come through from Kickstarter boosters in the past few days have revealed some of the cards that I think that Atsardi needs. He still needs more really high-powered cards at the top end, but the ramp is here.
Kojo might be the one in the picture doing the Mana Channeling, but I think this card really belongs with Atsardi. Whilst any hero can use this to give them a bit of ramp, I think that there are other cards that will go better with Kojo and Basira. The old version of this card had it putting itself in the Mana Orbs, but now it puts your top card of your deck into your Mana Orbs. I think that this is so that the rare version can do the same effect without fleeting.
As a result of this, you don’t know what random card you will lose when you put it into your mana, which could be a disadvantage of the card. However, an early turn 1 or 2 ramp will really help Atsardi get to his bigger cards he needs to draw more cards. Assuming that the rare does what I think it does, then that would be the one Atsardi would want to use.
We only have the OOF card for this one, but I’m convinced that the in-faction card will be Bravos considering that Mighty Jinn is already in Bravos. Here we have the Mighty Jinn effect, but only if the Tiny Jinn is boosted. Here also it is not an optional effect, so any boost will make it go into Mana. The stats are very lop sided which means it is relatively weak unless we are in the mountain biome. So, it’s a fairly good turn 1 play if you can find a way to boost it, though when it comes back from the reserve, it automatically gets a boost and will then go into the mana orbs. We’ll have to see what the Bravos versions look like though.
I think that this card is another card that could really go well in Atsardi. Because the deck needs a real mix of lower cost cards and high value cards, it may suffer through lack of pull through of the latter cards to finish the game off. Being able to cast it an extra time should I think help Atsardi. I don’t think that the extra boost will be needed instead of the ability to be able tp cast this twice, so the common should be good enough for Atsardi.
Now Helping Hand is actually great in Kojo and Basira too. It gives the extra boosts for Basira and can remove the Fleeting form Bravos Tracer to make it a very frighteningly cheap card that you can get to play another time. Helping hand is therefore an all-round good card for Bravos in my view, plus the art is really cracking.
